About Us

Hirsch, Levy & Fountain exclusively handles summary process eviction cases in the Bridgeport and Norwalk Housing Courts, and other Housing Courts statewide. As a local firm in Fairfield, we would welcome the opportunity to assist you with your housing matters.

Since the establishment of the Housing Court in Bridgeport, Connecticut in 1981, Attorney Ivan A. Hirsch, the late partner of the firm, devoted his practice exclusively to Landlord and Tenant Law. In 1993, the firm was founded by Ivan A. Hirsch and Sharon B. Levy. The firm continues to specialize in Landlord and Tenant Law with a particular emphasis on summary process eviction actions.

The firm institutes on average 60 summary process cases per month and represents landlord litigants in approximately 30% of all summary process cases returned to the Housing Court in Bridgeport. The firm also handles cases in the Norwalk Housing Court and other Housing Courts statewide. Over the years, Hirsch, Levy & Fountain has handled tens of thousands of eviction cases in the Bridgeport and Norwalk Housing Sessions.

Section 8/HUD/Government Subsidized Housing litigation represents 12-15% of summary process cases instituted by the firm. In do doing, the firm is extremely familiar with Federal as well as State statutes, regulations and procedures. We have given advice to clients regarding discrimination matters, CHRO matters and have dealt effectively with the Fair Rent/Fair Housing offices. We have also lectured to landlord groups, universities, Law Enforcement Agencies, and business groups as to the eviction procedure and Landlord and Tenant Law.

The firm has extensive summary process trial experience as to cases in which no settlement can be reached. We are particularly adept at negotiating stipulated judgments in summary process cases favorable to the property owner.

The firm has represented corporations, private landlords, housing authorities for the City of Bridgeport and The Town of Fairfield, non-profit organizations and religious groups. Hirsch, Levy & Fountain is an equal opportunity employer and is a Women-Owned Small Business.

Because we handle eviction matters at such large volume, we are able to offer expedient service at affordable fees.
